New Work / MARKÉTA NOVÁKOVÁ, PORCELAIN GIRL
Porcelain is a medium that fascinates and inspires me

I work mainly in the field of design of utilitarian objects made of porcelain. I use the technique of casting porcelain mass into plaster moulds to create tableware and interior accessories as individual pieces – solitaires or whole sets. When building a new shape, I often draw on geometry. It’s my porcelain play of curves, lines, edges, surfaces and intersections. I like to use subtle details that are not visible at first glance. Sometimes I experiment with material and motif, for example in the form of a relief structure covering the shape of the vessel. Every new idea is a challenge for me and a way of finding the right solution and way of realization. Porcelain is a material that gives me both boundaries and wings.
