New Work / INSIDEOUT SINGULARITY, SIMONA JANIŠOVÁ

Towards the end of the year Simona Janišová updated her older collection Sigularity (2018). The update concerns mainly the colour scheme, but also the new typology. The earthy colour palette has been replaced by a dark black and a sort of bottomless circle has been added between the objects. The author has thus freed the objects from function and made them even more sculptural works that you can hang on the wall or just place in space. We were intrigued by Jakub Gulyás’s photographs of them, because it’s not easy to take a good picture of black on black. And his photos captured the mystery, depth and subtle reflections of the shard’s silhouette convincingly.
