From Michalovce.
Where did you study?
AFAD in Bratislava and Comenius University in Bratislava – Faculty of Education.
Who was your best teacher?
Dana Lapšanská and Peter Šagát are always able to motivate me.
Who were/ are your parents?
My father was a businessman and my mother went through jobs in administration and services, she is currently retired.
What don’t you enjoy in design?
Playing at something.
And on the contrary, what do you?
Authenticity and fascination.
What do you listen to?
I like to listen to soundtracks of films that take me away. Music depending on my mood, for the most part the playlist revolves around the 90’s and 70’s and then I regularly alternate that with silence.
Your favourite film, cartoon, series?
Aliens, Courage the cowardly dog show, Family guy and The X-files.
Who do you respect as an authority in and out of your field?
I have great respect for theorists in and out of the field, for example Zuzana Šidlíková. I have trouble describing what I do, or rather I haven’t yet learned to describe it simply, and a good text can open my eyes.
What thing did you last buy?
A Lego figure.
Do you buy professional literature? What was the latest book?
Yes. Fashionpedia and Karol Kállay – Focused on Beauty.

I don’t have a ranking.

If there are secret rooms in it, this is it.
Do you have any stereotypes when you work? How do they show?
I create rituals to accompany my work. For example, playing a background series or music that I play around a given period. And later on it allows me to retrospectively revisit those moments.
What’s on your desktop?
White and six folders.
Best exhibition, work of art?
Ugh difficult…but the show that brought tears to my eyes was at The MET, Manus x Machina.
What do you respect both from the local and foreign design scene? And why?
From the local scene, I respect those who have figured out how to do it. Or rather, how to continuously sell a design without advocacy and hype. And in the conditions we have here, it’s very admirable. And abroad, there would be no shortage of names like Raf Simons or Helmut Lang. For their comprehensive approach to the concept of identity coupled with a work that is loved by the younger generation despite their maturity.
