Plyšové schodisko je súčasťou “Domu pod listom” [1], ktorého autorom je milánsky architekt Gio Ponti. Zberateľ umenia Giobatta Meneguzzo si u Pontiho pôvodne objednal prázdninový dom, ale neskôr svoju požiadavku zmenil na celoročne obývaný dom, ktorý mal zároveň hostiť časť jeho zbierky.
Ponti bol neochotný svoj projekt prispôsobovať novým okolnostiam, preto mu na tento účel odporučil mladú dizajnérku Nandu Vigo. Okrem iného je Vigo autorkou aj plyšového schodiska, nachádzajúceho sa v centre rezidencie, vedúceho k zbierke umenia na nižšom podlaží. [2]

The shag staircase is a part of the “House under a leaf” [1], a project by Giò Ponti, which was meant to be a holiday house for the art collector Giobatta Meneguzzo in Malo. In the end the client decided it should be a year-round residence, which is also holding a part of his collection. Since Ponti was unwilling to work on an adaptation to the new situation, he recommended the young designer Nanda Vigo for this task. Among other things, she is an author of a shag spiral staircase situated in the center of the residence, leading to the art collection on the lower level. [2]
